PHSA Oregon National Guard Field Trip (0 Comments)
On Tuesday, October 2, 2007, the Pendleton Home School Association went on a field trip to see Chinook helicopters at the Oregon Army National Guard facility in Pendleton. I thought about calling this our “Fall Chinook Run,” tongue-in-cheek of course, but this field trip was so much more than just getting to see those big CH-47s from up close. We got to tour the Aviation Support Facility at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport. We also got to see (and climb inside of) Humvees and Hemmets, and other troop-transport and cargo vehicles. But much more than that, we got to meet a few of our nation’s true heroes. These brave men who rescue people, fight fires, and help protect our country, kindly showed us around and made us feel quite welcome there. They were fabulous. Thank you so much, guys!
On to the photos. I’m sorry I don’t have everything labeled. I also don’t have Charlyn’s photos uploaded yet. Just click on the thumbnail images to view the larger versions of the photographs. You’ll need to use your browser’s back button to return to this page to look through more. On many computers, you may also right-click the thumbnail, and select “open link in new window” or something similar, which will allow you to easily return to this page right where you left it. Parents, if you see any shots that you’d like to make nice printed photographs from, let me know which ones by 4-digit number (e.g. 42xx or 43xx), and I can make the full sized file available to you; the pictures you see here are greatly reduced to be more web friendly.
