Haha, Sierra and I have to stick together and we have count the dogs, cat, and hens as voting for things too since they are all girls too…..since we are so outnumbered by boys and all. Sometimes they even let us get away with it.lol
I never had a sister so I enjoy that they have each other and I hope they will continue to have a friendship into their old age. (And with their brother too.)
I had that photo from last June but hadn’t used it yet. I really liked it and wanted to post it so I was happy to find a post to work it into.
On the topic of “Us Girls”: Siblings (sisters, yes, but brothers, too, of course!) are the best gift a child can receive. Did you see the Feb. 13 Notes From the Trenches post?
Also on the topic of “Us Girls”: My mother would likely protest, “No, no! It isn’t ‘us girls.’ We don’t say ‘us girls.’ We say ‘WE girls!'” (followed by a short discussion on the importance of proper grammar)
And on the topic of the photo (which is really nifty): Are they bracing for a rambunctious round of Red Rover with The Boy?
Yes, I did see that Notes post. Can you believe she is moving and didn’t let out a peep? I had wondered about a few things she said but she has certainly been quiet about it.
Your Mother would have a fit around with the skewering of Mr. Grammar that regularly occurs. We knewed more better but aint’ doing much to learn them they’re facts.
No, they were not bracing for a round of Red Rover but it does look like they are squeezing pretty tight. We were getting ready to go on a walk. Here is the farther away version. http://www.char-lyn.com/2008/06/28/clothes-choices/
I do a similar thing, and have for years calling people ‘person’ or ‘little person’ depending on their age. It just doesn’t seem as natural to use someones name, particually with how up tight everyone gets about how to pronounce it properly. So I reckon she’s got the right idea, much less hassle, for her anyway.
Oh but there is power in unity! They are very smart girls to word it this way. 🙂

“Papa, will you read to Us Girls?” “Will you tuck Us Girls into bed?” Pretty darned cute to Us Papas.
