SCREAM! (6 Comments)
“I didn’t know you were expecting again!” Said the voice loudly across several feet of store.
I sighed deeply and quietly said “scream!”
We meandered over to talk with the teenager we are acquainted with who made the comment. I guess she didn’t hear our quiet denials because, after we listened to how awful her life was going, she asked-
“So really, how far along are you?”
Um, I’m not pregnant.
Her jaw drops, she stares at my tummy, looks at my face and then back to my tummy.
I am seriously considering giving that empire waist top away.
I am crying in my tea.
I think I need something stronger.
I’m going to go get some chocolate!
Not to worry; you would not be the first giving an empire-waist top away. Give it to a pregnant person. 🙂
I recently was given a normal person’s empire-waist top which is wildly cute (and European!), but it is petite. I am not.

I am thinking of sending it to you. Can you wear a large?

And that is why I don’t like empire waist tops, never have and probably never will… just saying! 😛

Words of wisdom from the young. The fashion industry seems to think we should wear them but they only look good on the super slim. I have heard that the area right under the bust is an attractive area to highlight and therefore, the empire waist would be good for that. But I think it’s another area they are trying to make us look foolish and then they all secretly laugh at what they get us to wear.
I actually didn’t realize that it was an empire waist top when I bought it on line. Don’t know how that got past me.

A shirt on a coworker today reminded me of this unfortunate problem again!

Laugh. Yep, gave the shirt away- to a real pregnant lady.
I have read where other ladies just love the empire waist but it just doesn’t work for me… and apparently not for your coworker either.
